FOOTBALL FIVES

Proudly known as "FOOTBALL 5'S at the RIDGE PARK SPORTS CLUB; 5 a side football celebrated it's second birthday in September 2023.

Local youngsters from the surrounding suburbs make up and name their own teams and play League every Friday afternoon and Saturday morning at no cost.

FOOTBALL FIVES

Such is the popularity of FOOTBALL FIVES, that some 10 teams compete for League "honors".

Tournaments are held on a regular basis and an average of 16 teams compete to be crowned "Champions".

The Winners receive a floating Trophy and Gold medals, while the Runners-up receive Silver medals.

At these Tournaments individual players are also honored...

BEST PLAYER, BEST GOAL- KEEPER and TOP GOAL SCORER.

GRAND CHALLENGE

The RIDGE PARK FOOTBALL FIVES hosted a GRAND CHALLENGE TOURNAMENT to celebrate HUMAN RIGHTS DAY.

The Tournament kicked-off on Thursday, 21 March and continued on Friday, 22 March with the Semi-finals and Final played on Saturday, 23 March.

The Tournament was a rousing success with 16 Teams challenging to be crowned Champions. Competition was fierce and competitive resulting in many exciting matches.

Referees from the Local Football Association controlled the matches well.

Four Teams eventually qualified for the Semi-finals - FUTURE STARS, ARSENAL, T B L and SUPER STRIKERS.

The Final went to extra-time with FUTURE STARS emerging as the winners.
